MARCH AND APRIL LECTURES POSTPONED TO NEXT YEAR

Dear Members,

I am sending happy wishes to you all and hope you are faring as best as you can at this challenging time.  Spring is around the corner!

Some of you have heard already that we have cancelled our March lecture.  This was for two reasons: 1. Jennifer Foster requested a reschedule due to a family emergency, and 2. Wagner College has cancelled all in-person events through the end of the semester.  And just this week, the AIA has cancelled all events through the end of the academic year.  On item #1, Jennifer is very much looking forward to coming to speak to us, and so we will do our best to re-schedule her into our 2020-2021 program.  On item #2, rest assured there have been no confirmed or reported cases of COVID-19 on our campus; classes are being conducted remotely and the decision to proceed with this and the cancelling of in-person events is to ensure the safety and security of all our collective community.  Finally, we will also now cancel our April lecture, and will work with Celia to reschedule her talk as well.

Take a look at the fun archaeological opportunities shared by the AIA below.  We can still dig into the past, albeit digitally!  While it is unfortunate that we will not see each other in person until the fall, I will continue to send updates through email and regular mail.  We are planning our lectures series for next year, and you’ll hear more about that in early summer.

Be well, and stay safe and happy!

Sarah
